Refractive Lens Surgery
Refractive errors cause the need for spectacles either for shortsightedness (Myopia), farsightedness (Hyperopia), distorted vision (Astigmatism), reading distance (Presbyopia) or a combination of 2-3 refractive errors. At the Berlin Eye Clinic a clear lens extraction can be performed and simultaneously a multifocal intraocular lens (2 or 3 focal points) or toric multifocal intraocular lens (multifocal IOL with correction of astigmatism) can be implanted to achieve good spectacle independent vision.
Pseudophakic patients, patients after cataract surgery, with residual refractive errors can receive in a simple surgery an Add-on intraocular lens that corrects for reading distance, skewness of cornea or residual refractive error.
The suitability of patients for previously mentioned day case procedures can be determined at the Berlin Eye Clinic using state of the art technology.
